Youtube Randomly pauses and can't unpause

by OreoRants

I've experienced this a few times on my Chromecasts with GoogleTV.

After using the device for a day or so, the next time I open YouTube or YouTubeTV, the video opens, to a blank screen. If you click Play, the pause icon shows up. Clicking Play again will cause it to play for a second and then it is stuck in a pause loop (For lack of better words). If I hold down the play button it will play, but as soon as you let go, it pauses. The only way I can then get YouTube or YouTubeTV to play again, is to reboot the device.

This is happening on multiple devices pretty regularly. Anyone else experience this or have a fix?

I’ve had the same issue on both my nvidia shield TVs. No resolution so far other than rebooting like you mentioned.

I am having the same issue. Only seems to be my android tv. But every app, Youtube, HBOMax, Disney+, twitch. Will play a half second at a time and pause until I reset. Haven't figured out the fix yet.

I've had this happen after a few days of it being on. It's really annoying. I put my shield in a place I can reach the power cord because I need to hard reboot it by yanking the power. It could also be done with a smart switch and a schedule at 3am to auto reboot. Hmmm..... Maybe I'll do that . Thank you self. No problem self. High five.

The only "fix" I've found is to stop streaming my Nest camera on my one first generation Google hub display. Once the video is cut, my media will begin streaming on my speakers again.
