Chromecast with Google TV glitching (was fine last night) on videos and when there's motion in menus or on the home screen

Have the same issue. Like others have said restarting fixes it.

drewski3420

Have you tried turning it off and turning it back on again?

fahad_ayaz

A restart fixed it but just wanted to post it here since I have no idea what caused the system UI to glitch so bad. Was a lot worse in the settings menus.. it would be much more intrusive and the glitches would shimmer and shake. Weird!

Omg this is driving me nuts. Happens on my Android TV, CCWGTV and my Nest Hub devices... Not just on YouTube but also on Prime, TuneIn etc...

Restarting does fix it sometimes, not always. Any other potential long-term fixes? I've rebooted and reset devices but always ends up reverting to doing the same thing eventually.

Have had the same issue with both my ccwgtv's. Rebooting or switching hdmi ports solves it for a while

redross79

I've had the same a few times too. It is annoying, but at least it clears after a restart.

XADEBRAVO

Same, mine went nuts everyone time I pressed a button and a restart didn't make a difference. Had to reset.

Vatzz

Mine has now done this twice in the last week. Unplugging and replugging has fixed it for me.

hyphnos13

Mine does this and a couple of things usually fix it and it seems to be hdmi sync related.

  1. Power tv on/off
  2. Switch tv to another HDMI device and back
  3. Power google tv on/off if above fails

If available try moving it to a different HDMI port.

On my older Chromecast I would get stuttering and power cycling was all that worked for that. It seemed more like a memory leak or something like that because it would happen more with increased use.

tailuptaxi

Mine does it too.. power cycle as others have said. Mine however won't let me perform a system update. It always fails. Maybe a new software version would fix it but I'll never know.

strumthump

Mine did that this week for the first time, seemed to coincide with it running out of it's last byte of storage. Rebooted, cleared all apps cache and back up

trashbytes

Happened twice to already as well. Power cycle fixes it, but it scared the crap out of me the first time. Thought my new TV was dying.

BeautifulNo4632

Also just happened to my brand new Google TV. Rebooting it worked out…. For now

StrongBat4956

Mine just started doing this. Power cycle as per comments fixed it for now 👍

Kitton710

This has been happening to me for a while on and off issue. Happens randomly.

Willtravelalone

Mine just did this tonight for the first time. I can't even get to my settings menu. Any movement it, just glitches.

Never rule out the ghosts.

All good here, never encountered said issue.

When did it start & what did you change/install/remove prior to it happening?
