SmartTubeNext on Verizon Wireless

by jcrm2

Seems as so Verizon Wireless is blocking SmartTubeNext. I never had a problem until suddenly. Now videos won't play unless I am connected to a VPN or another carrier. I try using both beta and stable versions. No dice. smh. At least when connected with a VPN I can by pass Verizon's 1080p limit but I don't want to use VPN just so I can watch YouTube. That's crazy!

Can someone chime in here. Can an ISP do this?? If this is the case wouldn’t a change in service provider fix OP’s problem?

I don't know if they can but my vpn is permanently on. Don't see any reason to switch it off other than to change location for stuff like BBC iPlayer.

I have Fios and had no issues using the app last night. I know you’re using your phones connection but I don’t think they are explicitly blocking the app. Check to make sure your connection works elsewhere when you’re using VZW.

Sounds like DNS filtering done by the ISP. First, try to change your DNS settings to a public DNS, like 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 and see if that helps. You change that in your Network settings of your device.
