Android tvs + Dolby Atmos

by [deleted]

I want to know whether "android tvs with Dolby Atmos + eARC port offerings" can process TrueHD lossless Dolby Atmos on there own(I'm not talking abt DD+) when a 4k remux movie is played through HDD via tvs USB port(2.0/3.0) or do I need sheild. I don't if I can post a link of such tvs in posts but for example consider mi tv 5x or others. Note: In not talking about TVs standalone speaker. Thank you!!!

I think you can look at the specific model's specs to check if it allows direct TrueHD passthrough (because you want your sound system to receive the audio signal). It's a big enough spec on TVs to be mentioned in the product details.

Earc has the capacity to passthrough True HD to the AVR. Playing files frorm teh USB port on a TV. No idea about that. Get a Shield and connect it diectly to the avr.

You have no standalone Atmos receiver, and are just using the TV speakers, correct?

I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure it would play the downconverted audio.

Worst case scenario you could always convert the file with separate software, no?
