I have GoogleTV and installed ExpressVPN and logging into Netflix then shows the US Netflix.
My issue is that I cant seem to download any of the other US apps (like HBOMax etc) unless I use downloader and download them from there.
When I go to the App Store it just says not available in my country even though ExpressVPN is on and working.
What am I doing wrong?

Go to APK Mirror and download what you need from there.
Bit annoying as it means you have to update the apk manually any time you want to update.
Alternative is to create a new account and set the store to US. You can set your current account to US now but then you won't be able to change it back to UK for a year.
This is all because app store country is an account setting.
Use the VPN and create a new google account in US.. and download the app you need it
Many people have said it but I was late so I want to say it too.
Google account is locked to your location. Create a new account when connected to VPN. Also, sideload apps, easier.
A VPN won't hide your location for that. You'll need to sideload any apps that aren't available in the UK

I am using US Google Play Store by changing the country of Google account to US. So now i can get US apps on the playstore. If you need help in creating US google account. you can ask in DM
Because your Google Account/Play Store location isn't set to the US.
