I am wondering if there is a way to create an application icon that is a shortcut for a specific url? I am running a plex server on unraid and am using a program called overseerr to manage media requests. I have a custom domain with a subdomain for overseerr.
Is there any way to make a shortcut in android tv so that my kid can go directly to the subdomain without having to bring it up in a regular browser? My client is a shield tv if that makes a difference.
You can do this with our SplashTiles app. Just create a simple screen with an "External" background app setting -> your URL (on the cloud site splash-tiles.com ). Then install the Android TV app (SplashTiles) and sync it to cloud. It will automatically publish a "Recommended" icon to the ATV home page for your new "Screen". That works on most Android TV, but not Google TV which doesn't show app recommendations. For that just load the SplashTiles app as it will automatically open your first (and only) screen anyway.
