There was a partially working method that allowed it back when it first released. I don't know if any of them still work. You can search install google tv on android tv box see if you see anything you want to try. Just my opinion, but the Discover UI that's on the TV is better. Did the TV get that update?

Unfortunately no way to change the interface like that yourself. A dongle may be the best option. Try the Walmart onn or the Chromecast with Google TV.

I don't like the new interface, I have a Hisense H8G which I can update to the new interface and refuse and I have the Google TV device and much prefer my TV.

You can install the Google TV home launcher APK. It'll probably work but you can't configure it to remove Services you don't want to see
