Do you prefer the old method or do you like/love the new one?

How do you guys get it to work? It just keeps saying "Available Devices" but my shield doesn't come up.
I can't find the new one in the Play Store.
Why remove the app from the Play Store, before offering the service app 5.0 to all Android TV devices.
Weird thing is if you side load the service app then remove it your device will continue to update to 5.0.
In regions where Google TV app (or Google play movies & TV app) isn't available, the old remote app is still accessible on play store from both mobile & desktop site.
The old app was far from perfect, but at least, compared to Google TV, it was widely avaiable outside the U.S. and a few other countries.
I just wish that the assistant button could be replaced by a pause/play button.
I don't know the last time I've used voice commands on my Shield.
Oh thanks fo the info. In my region, neither Android remote nor google tv app are available at the moment. So I'd better stick with old app in my phone.
Just got my first Android TV 3 days ago. Was thinking wow Google really doesn't have a remote app.
Still not sure how to find the new one though.
I hope they release a decent ios version. The current one keeps asking for the 4 digit code every time i wish to use my phone as keyboard for my android tv.
The remote icon isn't showing on the new app for me. Any ideas?
I wish Google world implement Touchpad Control via the app, in addition to the Swipe Control & D-Pad Control options.
Already deleted it from my phone. Good riddance.
