Not sure where to find help, but there are too many damn TVs in my apartment complex...

by razzordragon

I live in student housing and every single apartment has the same smart TV. I'm trying to cast from my phone to my TV but it's not listed among the available devices. I gave it a specific name so I could differentiate it from the others, but that specific name is not on the list. Is it possible that there is too many devices available and my TV is getting bumped?

It's a Skyworth TV, but I don't know anything about it. Sorry if this is wrong place, but figured ya'll might be the smartest group to ask

I'm not really sure about this but by using separate wifi router(like travel router for hotel) might solve your problem.

You all share the same wifi also?

To answer your question... Yes. That's extremely possible if you're seeing a large number of them. Unfortunately, it is probably not possible for you to connect that way reliably in such a confined space with so many devices fighting for the same airwaves. You may get lucky and catch it periodically when refreshing the device list, but it could be very difficult. Not to mention casting can be unreliable as a whole.

Try to reset the chromecast app on your tv by finding the app then click clear cash and clear data then give it a try hope that will help you
