My TV speaks while turned off

by Tenfinnvo

So I tried googling this issue but get nothing but Voice Assistaint and Voice Control topics.I have an Android TV, Haier BX to be exact, and sometimes it randomly says a phrase while turned off. Usually it's "Something went wrong, please try again in a few seconds". Thing is the TV is turned off at that moment, no one is in the room with it, it doesn't support voice commands (at least out of the box) so I've literally no Idea what might be causing it.Or more importantly - how to turn it off. Because sometimes it happens in the middle of the night and appartently without any regards to what sound volume was set up while it was on. I have a newborn so it would be very annoying if the baby happened to wake up from it.

Anyone know what might be causing this issue? Thanks in advance.

Edit: Apparently the TV still has an option for google assistaint in it's settings even though the stock remote doesn't support it. There haven't been any phrases since I turned that off, although it's only been a couple of days.

It sounds to me like you have a Google nest speaker you've forgotten about

Well, some of the newer tvs from China has powered off Google Assistant functionality. Some have hardware mic switches at the back, some have it in settings. Not sure about your model. Best way is to power it off completely.

I have been looking up on this exact issue as well, and this is the only thing I FINALLY found. I know I turned off talkback feature, but have used the mic on the remote at some points. It creeps me out because it always does it in the morning after my husband leaves. It usually says "something went wrong try again in a few seconds." This time it went longer, and said "I can't find your wifi connection please go to home then setting to reconnect." It's like we'll first off you are turned off, so you shouldn't even be worried about wifi connection at all. It's loud af about it as well. I have a 2 month old baby she might be on a mission to wake babies up and piss off perants. Mine don't mind it though.

Finally, found someone with the same issue! Have you found a solution yet other than unplugging it?
