My mi box just blacked out after I changed my resolution to 4k. how can I fix this? thanks

Try connecting it to other screen (preferably less than 4k). This is not a full fix, however you will be at least able to get 8t back working. You can also try disconnecting it out of power (to force restart) or pluging out and in hdmi cable. It might be that mi box just have some problems with exact screen you use. It should support 4k, but I know when I used it on my 4k screen it always forced to 25fps only and if I tryed changing to fullHD it has gone weird green. So mi box supports 4k, but I would rather recommend you sing it with fullHD, if it has permanent problems or performance issues.
