Probably a dumb question. I'm thinking of buying Chromecast with Google TV, I already have a TV running Android 9 but it became very slow and buggy.
The thing is I have a huge library of local media files and I use USB drive to connect to the TV and watch them.
Now with Chromecast with Google TV if I connect the USB drive to the TV's USB port will the CcwGTV detect the USB? Can I watch my media files this way?

No, only the TV can read files from a USB device plugged into the TV.
To read video files from USB with the CCwGTV, you will need to add a USB port to the CCwGTV itself, by using a USB-C hub.
As an alternative you can buy Nokia streaming thingy 8000. It's pretty much the same but with more storage and a USB port where you could plug your USB stick in. I have both and am happier with the Nokia one.
