AndroidTV for wireless office presentations (airplay, chromecast, etc)

by pssman

Hi there, I am looking to setup all my office meeting rooms with Android TV Boxes to do streaming for presentations.

I am wondering if anyone has experience doing this and which box would you recommend. We now have appletv, but I have users who are on windows and thus plan to replace all with a more universal tv box. I don't want HDMI cables flying around the room...

I wanted to use only "branded" boxes that come with some resemblance of support.

  • Xiaomi MiBox
  • Google Chromecast
  • Nvidia shield

I would love to receive any sharing of experience, alternatives, etc.

If you're just using it for presenting I'd suggest just a bog standard Chromecast as they're cheaper and more reliable for casting than a full TV box

The cheapest box is probably from Walmart. The Onn stick for 1080p is $15 and runs Android TV.

The Onn 4K little box is $20 and runs Android TV.

Those are your cheapest options and they run Android TV and are supported by Walmart and the currently cheaper and the 4K box is even faster than Roku and some of the other boxes out there. If you ever have a problem just run them back to your Walmart.
