You can also long press on a video or channel to bring up a context menu, which allows you to add/remove videos from playlists and also allows to subscribe/unsubscribe from channels.
I'm at dentist rn or else I'd screenshot it for you... but it's fairly easy w/out goin through any type of menu
When you're inside the channel, click the 'menu' button on your remote. It's 3 horizontal lines on my TCL remote. It'll show a menu on the right hand side and the subscribe option should be there
