Easy question (Netflix & Disney+) but still want access to my Win10 PC

by specialk45

A friend is giving me his Samsung 55" TV MU6500 as he's upgrading. I currently (old tv) use an older knock-off android box to use netflix and kodi to access my Win10 shared directory. Now we have disney+ but the android box doesn't support the disney+ app.

So my choices are to use the netflix and disney+ built into the new tv, but then how can I access my Win10 PC downstairs in the house? I don't want to cast from the computer to the tv, as the person using the tv is far away in the house... so want to view contents of a folder on my Win10 pc.

If the tv can not do this (Samsung MU6500 Series 6) I don't mind buying a new android box which would only need to play netflix, disney+, but allow me into my Win10 pc.

Thoughts on the best way to go? Thank you!

AllShare from Samsung

Allows windows DLNA media server to be accessed from the TV.

I think they might have discontinued support but it should still work in some form .

What are you using as a server? As most DLNA servers should work.

Look for Universal Media Server I think it's called too.

Use the apps on the tv, hook up the box to the tv and change inputs when you want win 10. Or get a $30 box that does all. The Chromecast device does right? Mibox or whatever would work also
