I bought this device thinking that Google would provide day one updates to the OS and maintain regular security updates for it, but the last update was in May. I thought ok maybe they are just planning on releasing 12 day 1 and working on that, but NOPE. Android 12 came out and here we are still waiting. Google mentioned in October that the features of 12 would be coming to the device in November. In December Google now says that they aren't coming until the "next few months"
Same reason I purchased it. Now Iām sending back. I also thought like PIXEL phones Google tv Chromcast will get latest updates before othere devices. But nope Not even Android 11.

same, really don't see why google of all oems would be one to slack on android updates. & to add insult to injury they don't even bother to give us monthly, or even quarterly security updates. & when we do finally get an update every 6 months, it's build date is from like months before that. pretty lazy of google that they can't even do a repo sync, make, & auto test every month imo
12 just finalized like a week ago, no one's got that coming this fast
Android TV OS doesn't go hand-in hand with the Android OS for phones/tablets. Most Android TV streaming devices now are running on 9 or 10. Some are released/upgraded with 11 this year.
And speaking of updates, there's an update for the CCwGTV (after 6 months!)
Yeah, I just bought it and spent quite some time trying to understand why the profiles feature is not working... š
