So I have 2 Android TV devices. One is a 2017 Nvidia Shield and the other is a "Google Chromecast with Google TV" (sabrina) Hulu is garbage on both of them..
On the Shield I have it hooked up to a 720p tv and sometime the video fails to play after the network splash before the episodes and subtitles are missing and the playback ui is all messed up, I assume it's due to the resolution as pausing and playback shows weird frames like the UI has no idea what resolution the TV is using. I triple checked that the Shield is using the correct resolution. I also tried clearing Hulu cache and resinstalling the app and still it's not working.
On the Sabrina (4k tv) device it's just a jittery mess for a lot of shows. It's unpleasant to watch.. The Shield also has jittery playback but it seems not as constant.
On both devices, using the Google cast feature and bypassing the native apps fixes all issues so I have to use my phone to control playback when we'd rather use a remote.
Anyone have a suggested fix?
unfortunately no... Hulu app on Android tv has always been crap... it's been awhile n they haven't done anything about it so I doubt it.
