Android TV YouTube Stuttering

by MrBolkvadze

Hi there.

I’ve purchased an Android TV (TCL 43P725) two days ago and it works fine but today I’ve tried playing YouTube video and it kept stuttering. I thought the issue was 4K video but it was the same for all quality content. Apparently I’ve found two year old thread saying to unplug the TV and plug it back on. Very weird fix but it worked. I was wondering if there are any fixes for this since it’s not very easy to do this “fix” all the time. Thanks.

I don't know if it affects your TV but TCL has problems with their Android TV's in fact Best Buy pulled them from their stores yesterday until TCL has a fix. https://www.androidpolice.com/best-buy-halts-sales-of-tcl-google-tvs/

TCL is shit. It often helps to go into the system menu, apps and stop the app that is having problems. After that it works fine for a few days again (for me at least)

If you find excessive memory usage, try disabling an app called Google from your menu. Saw it hogging too much ram and messing up Netflix on my atv. Flawless after this fix.

My TCL TV was stuttering in all apps. I discovered that it happens when I connect my computer to the HDMI port. Otherwise, it works well.
