so sometimes when my parents watch netflix or other streaming services with our chromecast google tv, it takes up to 60 mbps and me and my sisters seem to notice lag when they watch it. We have 200mbps download speed. is there anything i can do to make it take less internet?
what. i have only 15 mbps internet and i use netflix on 2 google tvs at one time

How do you know how much is your device using from the 200mbps provided? I want to try with mine
That should be plenty of speed. If the internet provider is pushing the correct amount of data, it may be the router. If the router is older it might be time for an upgrade.
If your google tv is plugged on a 4k Tv. Try going into settings - audio/video setting and set your google tv resolution to 1080p 60hz or even 24hz. It will make things drastically better !
Well, my Mi TV Stick takes ~40 Mbps every time I watch something in 1080p in any streaming services.
You can limit this in the router's settings afaik, but that's gonna reduce quality
