Can a kids account use TV inputs?

by sirstevis

I recently purchased a Sony TV with Google TV, and I'm trying to make it so my kids can watch certain apps (Disney+, Netflix, etc) and play their PlayStation...however, when I set up a kid profile, there is no ability to switch TV inputs. It just says "Feature not available in current profile" when I click the Input button on the TV remote. Similarly, when I click the TV button, to switch to HDMI 3 where my cable box is hooked up, I get this message "TV isn't available now. This is managed by Google TV". I can't seem to get the right combination of parental controls set up. Is this even possible?

Same issue. I have yet to figure out if switching inputs is even allowed via child account regardless of the configured parental controls. Tried on a TCL Google TV as well as on a Chromecast with Google TV.

Same issue here. I sure hope it's somehow possible to allow a child's profile to select a TV input. This is a pretty big oversight if not. Sometimes I think software developers don't have kids so they don't understand the issues. Another one is apps that show your PIN on screen or show which numbers you are pressing as you press them on the remote. If my kids are in the room then they'll see right away. So we have to have them close their eyes or leave the room or some other silly solution like that.

I've given up trying to resolve this issue through all the settings. It's just plain broken. The only way my kids can use the Xbox is to switch to my profile first, which prevents me from locking their profile, which makes the whole thing pointless.
