Seems like what a lot of people want, 4gb ram, 32gb storage. Supports AV1, VP9, H.264, H.265 (HEVC) HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. Has passed through the FCC already.

This box is manufactured by SEI Robotics as opposed to the one they currently have on Amazon which apparently was not.

Have to see where this comes in price wise.

Apparently Rocktek said on Facebook it would be available in February.

Don't forget a lot of boxes have been delayed due to the ship shortage.

All these devices must use the same basic firmware, probably provided by Amlogic. NONE of these Amlogic boxes will play the VC-1 video codec, even though the codec stats shows that it is supported. Also, none of they support the HD audio codecs, and none support the Dolby Vision video codec.

This thread says it supports the Dolby Vision codec, but I doubt it.

Would be nice if this device supports all of the above, but I doubt it.

So, as Kodi_Fan_Omicron says, it will be just the same old over priced Android TV box.

It is strange that, the Slimbox Android mod using the Amlogic SoC's, can pass through all the HD audio codecs, AND supports automatic framerate and resolution switching, but the these Google Certified devices do not support any of that.

If the release info also said it was being released with Androidtv-12, then it would be something to look forward too.

As is, just another box that will be over-priced, being that it's released from a small vendor.

And if this box doesn't have a working Recents window to multi-task, then that 4GB ram will never fully be utilized to it's full capacity.

Have to see where this comes in price wise.

The Skystream Max was just announced and it's going to be $125: https://www.skystreamx.com/product-page/skystream-max-androidtv

Considering that the Rocktek is the same chip but will have double the RAM and double the storage, I'd expect it'll be a decent amount more than $125.

I'm thinking I'm going to preorder the Skystream when it opens up later this month.
