I find my tv interface very slow since the merge of google tv with all the recommendations.
My other tv i have nvidia shield with only apps showing, and it works super smooth, I really dont like how google has forced all this stuff on me.
Thought I would ask here if anyone has found any solutions, Thinking about getting another Android TV Box as this UI is very sluggish.

Google TV is just kind of sluggish. they have too much stuff going on for the amount of resources available. Other than going with a 3rd party launcher nothing to be done. All Android TV devices and TV's have the ad banner but the Discover UI is much less busy and resource intensive. Sounds like getting another Shield would be a good idea for you.

Uninstall update for Android tv home And disable auto update in playstore
Try installing third-party launcher there are many good ones out there!
