So I have been trying to find a good cheap android tv box for a couple of days now and it's really confusing. Some have Netflix certification, some don't and other have other features (Dolby Vision, Atmos e.t.c). So I wanted to know if there is something cheaper than the mecool km2 that I can buy to use Netflix and run Plex/Kodi on 4k without any issues.
Don’t cheap out, buy a nvidia shield tv. You’ll have it for years, it’s the longest supported box going. I still have one in my basement from 8 years ago and still updates. Just need to buy the new remote for it.
Chromecast with Google tv or the Walmart onn Android tv. It sells for $19.99
But I prefer the Chromecast with Google tv
The brand new xiaomi 4k tv stick will be amazing. Should be available to purchase very soon. It has all the codecs and will retail very cheap.
If you dontywanna go china, the chromecast with google tv is the best bang for buck

But, as far as I know, only the Nvidia Shield supports automatic framerate and resolution switching.
It all depends upon your setup and needs. If you have a TV supports all the video codecs like HDR+, Dolby Vision, etc. then you want a device that can use those features.
IF you have a surround system that uses all the HD audio codecs, then you want a device that supports all those audio codecs.
IF you are conscious of video hiccups, then you want a device that supports all the framerates and resolutions.
Now, the new AV1 video codec will become more available, so get a device that supports that codec for future protection. " AOMedia Video 1 (AV1) is an open, royalty-free video coding format".
EDIT: Don't forget the *** remote ***. Since all your interaction with the box is through the remote (discounting your voice commands), make sure your device has a ** great ** remote. I have many, many different Android Boxes with different types of remotes. Most are good to great. But, I HATE the remote that came with my Nvidia Shield, so I rarely use the Shield, because of that remote.
I'm using a fire stick 4k with Kodi(using plexkodiconnect) and it works quite well. There is some lag with heavy skins but works great with the default and it's played every tv show/movie I have except one old VC1 copy.
Km2
I use Xiaomi Mi Box S 4k, but I doubt is cheaper than the one you mentioned. It works flawlessly and is super fast, it's relatively cheap, 4K, Dolby Atmos and DTS, remote with microphone which is damn amazing feature. Definitely can recommend this one.
Google Chromecast with tv
Chromecast with google tv have all these dolby atmos, vision etc . and it is only 50 dollars
4K firestick runs Kodi and Cinema with no issues just gotta watch the price though Amazon runs them sometimes as low as 25$ but then hikes them up to 40-50$ .

I bought one. You should choose the Right Processor; Check the Storage Option; Look for Available USB ports; Check for the Video and Display; An HDMI 2.0 is a requirement for 4K streaming. Check the Options for Network Connectivity. Determine Bluetooth Support. Check for Google Play Support. And read the product guide. The important thing is I bought a Dynalink TV box and used it in my bedroom.
