It's an older SOC and for the prices they still charge I think your better off with a ccwgtv (Chromecast with Google tv) unless u really need the extra built in USB ports I think your better off with something that has a newer chipset. If u get it for $20 on clearance or used I think there's better options for the $50-$60 price tag
Here is decent info from someone looking for Android stuff about a year ago. If ur on a tight budget and don't need anything to powerful for games and just want to stream. I got this on Walmart online for $20. It sells in store for$30 but online Walmart and just pick it up at your store u can save$10 and get it for$20 https://www.xda-developers.com/walmart-onn-android-tv-4k-review/amp/
Nvidia shield or nothing
I have it and it works ok. I would say if you are going to go with the Walmart android TV option id suggest the onn 4k streaming box. I have both and think the Onn 4k box is faster.
I have a jetstream on my secondary TV, which is actually my 125" screen / 1080P Epson projector home theater. It works great. I don't play any games, just pull up a movie or a show, and it works just peachy, for a lot less cost than the Shield I have in the living room.
Nvidia shield in livingroom, chromecast with Google TV in bedroom. That's my set up
I got a TiVo Stream 4K for giggles. It's a fun little streamer. Has, Chromecast built in, a usb-c for extra storage, Live channels app on the home screen and has a similar feature of the CCWGTV where it groups content from all your apps in a guide. Probably not the most powerful, but different and fun to mess around with. Got it at WM for $25.
I'm sure u/latinriky78 has a few thoughts.
I still use mine on a secondary TV. It works! But kinda slow now on latest Google TV skin and never gets updates.
Mi Box 4k with an USB Ethernet doungle might be a better option, tho never had one.
I been using for a while now, and I haven't any issues at all. Maybe the problem is the USER no the device or software. I'm happy with Mibox. well is my own opinion. Good Luck
Yes, it's like a Mi Box S but with the additional USB port and ethernet port.
It's currently on Android 9 but it's hard to tell if Ematic will update it at least to 10 or 11.
Xiaomi Mi Box S 4K
it never was
