Ethernet directly to Android TV or Chromecast Ultra

by jtanman

I just bought an ultra short throw projector running AndroidTV and used to have a Chromecast Ultra that I was using with ethernet. Do you think it's more efficient to just plug the ethernet directly into the projector with AndroidTV or keep using the chromecast ultra? I don't know if the chromecast ultra might have higher throughput or something.

I vote try em both out and post back here what you think

Efficient? That's a weird metric.

I'd use the one natively in the projector. Fewer dongles, cables, setup, firmware, etc. Also, the Chromecast can't push a higher resolution to the projector if the projector can't support it. If the projector supports 4K playback, chances are the built in Google TV already does it. Use the Chromecast Ultra in another room or pass it along to family.
