Netflix and other apps not playing at 60fps

by suheef232

Recently i realised that my Chromecast with GoogleTV does not play any content in apps other than YouTube at 60fps. This is the same case with my Sanyo Android TV as well. People say that Netflix only plays at 24fps but when i tried watching TASM 2 on my old Chromecast Gen 1, it played at 1080p50hz and at much better audio quality.

I suspected it might be the TV's fault so i tried both on same LG TV and found same result where Chromecast with GoogleTV showed it was playing at 1080p60hz when it actually wasn't and the Chromecast Gen 1 played it flawlessly at 1080p50hz.

I tried changing the Google TV resolution to 1080p50hz as well but found no difference.

I have tried Netflix and Disney+ as well. YouTube plays fine at 4k60fps.

What can I do to fix this?

wouldn't you want it to play in the same fps as the movie/content? I doubt Netflix streams anything in 60fps, probably mostly 24fps.

To get 60fps on Netflix & other apps, the content should also be in 60fps.

Also, how are you finding out the resolution & frame rate each devices are playing at?
