Subtitles appear in every video I start in the YouTube app. So for every video I have to turn it off.
This has to be due to an update?
I have tried to check/uncheck boxes in the settings, but not help.

I’ve fought with this before, make sure that they’re off on every device you own that’s signed into YouTube. That includes anything you cast from, even if you’re not currently casting.
This is ironic, because I used to be annoyed by the fact that I have to turn on the subtitles every time.
Goto https://www.youtube.com/account_playback and turn off “Always show captions”
