Download apk on computer from a site like apkpure or similar. Then use this portable app ( https://qwertycube.com/apk-icon-editor/ ) to show you the preview of the icons. If it has TV support, it will have a TV icon.
Install the app
They look rectangular
And, it's a nerd dive, but there are editors where you can make your own. Or at least edit ones that already exist. (It's been a while, I don't really have any recommendations. Looked into it when some side loaded apps weren't showing up on the screen. Needed to force show the icons.)
