Hi ya'll,
Can anybody explain to me if my Android TV Box is Chromecast compatible? I have not been able to connect a remote control app to it, nor use it with Google Home or YouTube to cast a video. Also, it doesn't show the enable/disable Chromecast option in the settings menu. I have tried downloading and installing the Chromecast built-in app from Aptoide TV but it's still not working. Is there a software workaround or is it a hardware issue? Any help would be much appreciated.
That’s not an Android TV device. That is a box running Android. So it will not support Chromecast.
That device is using an Android phone OS tweaked to look like an Android TV. Chromecast functionality is only available for legitimate Android TV systems.
It's not a android tv certified device (its doesn't have the security clerance exigencies from Google). Yes it's run android TV but it's capabilities is limited. You can't run 4k Netflix, use chromecast, 4k prime video and features who need to be used in a google certificed device.
In my honest opinion, you should check for another device
If money is a issue, the onn tv box , mi box 4k (last version) or the CCWGT are cheap alternatives.
