My HBOMax button isn't working either. The others are fine.
Launching HBOMax from the app launcher works fine.
Anybody figure this out? Mine is doing same thing HBOMax button doesn't work but remote lights when i press it. I was going to return but looks like its a software issue?
I think nobody really knows what happened.
The button worked until HBO Max app was updated a month ago.
The HBO Max app was buggy and slow, now it work faster, really faster, but it broke the access with button.
This got resolved for me today via a product update. Update your devices and you should get fixed too.
I called support and told them whats happening they sent me a new box.
Here to report got a brand new box and hbo button doing same thing so its definitely software related.
Like most things u need to periodically restart it. Android boxes have issues IMHO for most people because they don't follow proper electronic maintenance. Which the most basic is restarting weekly or at least monthly. When u hit the power button it powers off the tv but not the box itself.
Dumbest idea was adding app buttons to a remote.

It's the HBOMAX app not your TV. I had the same issue this week. Force close it and then try again. Probably clear the cache as well. It's been doing this seen they updated he app earlier.
