Android TV software and assistant issues

by LargeFullStop

I have a 3 year old TCL TV running on Android 9. Recently after some Google apps update, the Google assistant keeps having issue loading when the TV starts. Pressing the assistant button on the remote will result in "Something went wrong. Please try again later." It will load again after pressing the button again.

Another problem I am facing is the consistent "Android TV core services" and "TVKitServer" not responding alerts when the home screen loads.

Anyone else has the same issue or any work around for these issues?

Could be that they used very low budget hardware to keep costs low and can't handle the new updates or the manufacturer stopped supporting that models Android tv updates properly🤷🏽‍♂️. If ur in the US, buying a Walmart cheap ONN box 4k for $20 online might be your best, easiest and inexpensive workaround.

I keep having to restart my TV because of the "something went wrong" errors, and it's the 2021 Google TV model.

What really gets me is the "hold the assistant button to speak" message that covers half the screen every time I turn the TV on via voice command. The only way to clear it is to use the back button on the remote, so I might as well just turn it on from the remote to begin with.

Never buying any hardware related to Google again, they've just become the worst.
