So frustrated by my struggle to retro game on Shield TV

by xEtherealx

I'm looking for some help setting up retro gaming on my shield TV, or at least for somebody to come by and say that I'm wasting my time so I can give up.

I've got Arc browser installed as well as NES.emu and retroarch, but both emulators have significant input lag. I've played with settings and just can't figure it out. I've even tried using a wired controller instead of the shield TV's wireless controller to take that out of the equation. My TV is on game mode and my consoles don't have any noticeable lag, nor does my raspberry pi.

Has anyone experienced and overcome this issue that can share some wisdom? I promise I will never update my shield TV again, if only I can get this thing working well!

Look up retroX. Easy to use and set up. Well worth the money.

Had cloud saves too so no matter what box you play on, you can continue from your save point.

Can't recommend enough

I find RetroArch to be so advanced, that I could never figure it out. Games like Mario Kart 64 shouldn't normally have lag or dropped frame issues, but they do with RA. I'm sure theres simple ways to fix this, but im not an expert.

You'll find the $3-10 emulators will run games much faster right from the start. But some of them really do need a mouse, but just for the setup.
