So I stupidly STUPIDLY updated my shield and since doing so like many others both mx player isnt detecting the my video files on my external hard drive. Will a fix be implemented soon?.
I've been told it's due to the new smb (I don't know what that is). Apparently vlc player has the same issue.
i don't have a sheild but have you tried "just player"
Since you are using external drive then might consider to sign up for 9.0.1+ Hotfix because there's issues with NTFS/exFAT format drive.
MX player does this unfortunately. There is a refresh option top right menu that sometimes forces it to scan but not always.
Did you give it permission to access all files, all the time.?
