I have the onn streaming box. The volume is very low even when the TV volume is on high. If I stream directly to Chromecast the volume acts normally. Any advice?

Try checking the ONN box volume itself. It has its own volume and it can be set way low. Chromecast volume is controlled by the device casting I think. Cut off CEC if it is on, then turn the volume up, then cut CEC back on.
you can also simply remove the tv from the onn remote then turn up the volume to 75 or 80% then re add the tv to the remote.
You need to change the internal volume. Temporarily switch the remote settings for volume and increase it to 100 and then switch back to CEC or IR.
