Best you can do is a custom launcher to show only the essential apps and it’s on them to figure out how to use apps like YouTube and Netflix
You can go into the settings and disable all the unwanted channels and apps displayed on the home screen.

yeah there is but I've gotten bs for mentioning it before... Tivimate... look into it n then fig it out from there... hint. u need a separate service before using it but it looks damn near identical to a cable box interface.
Amazon sells some remotes specifically for elderly users, larger buttons and less buttons.
Best you can do outside on the homescreen is to use a simple launcher such as FLauncher so that your parents can find/open an app easier but that's about it. Once they open an app, it's up to the dev's mercy
