Question about Live Channels - has it changed recently?

by jamescridland

I use the Live Channels app to watch TV using a TVHeadend box. Live Channels was fine for that (I have a little shortcut app to open it, but you can also open it with voice).

I had to reset my Chromecast With Google TV the other day, after for some reason it died.

On reinstalling everything, LiveChannels appears to have gained some annoying category top-level listing (which I don't want), but more irritatingly, when it comes to some of the channels for which I don't have an EPG, it scrolls to the furthest right of the EPG (to the 19th March) as soon as I scroll through them, making the entire EPG impossible to use.

The strangest bit is that when hitting the "select" button on a channel, it now had two big bright blue buttons, one marked "CHANNEL UP" and one marked "CHANNEL DOWN".

What have I done to it? Is there a way to return it to how it was? Is this an update everyone has?

EDIT: in the comments, it’s pointed out that this behaviour happens when you turn on any accessibility feature in Android. Turn it off, and the strange EPG scrolling-to-the-end behaviour, and the bright blue buttons, disappears. THANK YOU!

Usually happens when there is any app using Accessibility services.

Go to Accessibility settings and disable all app that is listed under the Services section.

I have a TVHeadend setup as well. Please explain what I need to do to see if it's working for me.

So do I need to add the /playlist/channels.m3u to the setup and what should happen?

Live Channels sucks compared to Fire TV's implementation of it. It's basically a spinning circle 95% of the time for me.
