Our Sony Bravia XBR65X850F was fine when it had Google TV. I like to not update the software often to prevent software breakage issues that can happen with updating. Well I decided to update and it updated to Android TV. It says android version 9 now. Before it had 8. After updating to 9, my tv shows “android tv” and has these colorful circle things spinning when you turn the tv on. Then it will either shut off and I have to turn it back on.
Other times when I go to watch tv, it wont turn on at all from the remote. I have to keep hitting the power button on the remote to get it to finally respond. It didnt do this before updating to android 9.
Whats going on? My tv is in warranty via extended warranty.
I tried doing a factory reset as sony suggested but same issue.
I had the same issue. After the last update, I kept getting reboots when I turned it on, as well as randomly while watching. I wish I had advice for you, but I could not solve it.
Sadly... the TV stopped turning on about a month ago. Nothing I tried could get it to turn on again. I don't know if this issue is related to the update, or the reboots. I hope your TV does not end up like this, but at least you still have a warranty.
As much as I loved the picture quality of the Sony, I refuse to purchase another Google/Android TV. Too many software issues.
