Good luck to them (seriously). My Google TV devices are extremely good at this and serve me up excellent recommendations despite my very niche tastes. That said, I have invested a lot of time rating movies, adding content to my watch list, and purchasing movies from Google. I never thought a recommendation engine could work so well, but (for me) it does. I'd welcome other services giving Google a run for their money.
I wish Plex would concentrate on all of the known issues as well, but I am impressed so far. I rolled my eyes when I saw the announcment too. I played around with it a litlle bit last night and everything worked. It's the first aggregator I have tried that worked with everything I have and it shows all of my Plex content as well as my friend's connected servers. So far, it's a win for me. I'm gonna play with the watchlist feature next. I should also mention that it's working on my Shield, but hasn't shown up in the web player yet. (By the way, us deadbeat lifetime users are the reason plex exists today!!!)
I always welcome more competition, but it strikes me as a bit odd that Plex assumes folks are going to hop into their app, only to then hop into the Netflix or Hulu app, etc.
The Google approach (being baked into the home screen), as annoyed by the ads, feels like a much more logical implementation. Obviously Plex can't "own" the home screen like Google does, but I'm just not sure how much traction this is really going to get.

Either Plex has a partnership with JustWatch (likely), or they're plainly ripping the data from them (plain stupid, and prone to litigation).
Something else I don’t need from plex or google for that matter.
This is something that may finally allay my partner's fears of getting rid of streaming platforms.
She is always worried about missing out on new shows, but this shows trending content from her selected platforms in Plex, and should mean she won't miss out on anything.
All for this, the less apps you need the better. Hopefully this is the start of development and we can eventually get the streaming platforms to work natively in Plex itself.

All these angry Plex users in this thread. I was one, I moved to Emby and haven't looked back.
Vote with your usage and wallet, complaining only gets you so far.
Emby's got a few weird issues too, and I'm slowly moving away to Real-Debrid lol
The only 'major' services that show up for me are Netflix and Prime video
And a whole lot of unknown services.
But each media blurb I see references so many other options

Love the interface... seems so much like Just watch, in fact better in some aspects but misses showing the availability for some OTT apps, even though the apps are listed.
Honestly, the killer feature in this for me would be adding sports. I'm an American trying to follow Bayern Munich and Manchester City in soccer. Do you know how damned difficult that is, as they pop from streaming service to streaming service?
They better make this a home launcher instead of embedding it inside the app. I bet the whole firestick community will go crazy over it. And some GoogleTV's sponsored-content haters in here as well
Another useless feature nobody asked for while major bugs remain ignored.
I'm honestly never this salty but Plex is really testing my patience.
