MX Player Pro custom codec

by fleurdelis111

Had to reset my Nvidia shield to factory and now have to reload MX player pro custom codec. I seem to remember using mx-aio.1.3.5.zip in the past (before I had the Pro version) but MX doesn't seem to recognize zip files so maybe I'm wrong about that. Regardless, if I extract the zip it doesn't help. MX sees the file but ignores it.

I need ARMv8 Neon. I've tried so many versions (1.41,1.44,1.4.5 etc)

Please help, I am seriously starting to lose my mind. I don't remember this ever being this difficult

As I said the app has the codecs build. It could be your version of Android or the settings in the app aren't set right. There is a setting for the decoder. I had to mess with each one to get it work. Plus the bottom of the decoder setting there is a setting for custom decoder.

I think you'll be able to download the codec that you need from here: https://github.com/USBhost/MX_FFmpeg/releases

u need to get the (ac3/DTS) patched apk vers... they have em in Arm8 vers as well... I'm dealing w/the exact same issue as well. worked fine until recently so I'm probably going this route.

Am I crazy to believe that I've always used zip files to install MX player codecs?? Has that ever been true??

Here's the developer website that might have some answer for you:

I know that years ago you could download the correct codec but MX Player either uses the build-in codec that's in Android or the one that the app has. I would get the app aida64 to check on which codecs you box has plus the processor it has.

What version of Android TV do you have & have you checked what codecs you have using aida64?

Check the playstore for armv8 neon code. The newest version of mx player doesn't really need it but there some available.
