Google TV UI automatically goes on & off on Android TV 9

Hi all, I do have a Xiaomi MiBox S with Android TV v. 9, and since a year now, occasionally Google TV UI goes on, usually when the device is resting and it stays that way several minutes or hours, sometimes even after restart has Google TV UI and then unexpectedly it returns in the old Android TV UI for months. Is there a way how to enable the new Google TV UI? I'm in Balkans region and the last time this change happened I had a VPN, though not sure if it was active when the change of UI happened. In any case, I restarted the device without turning on the VPN and the new UI was still on.

Is there a way how to set Google TV UI as default Android TV Launcher?

Google's new tv ui just for some region right now. When you use vpn it'll enable again.

It's not "Google TV UI". It's the "new" Android TV UI, aka the "Discover" UI.

It depends on region. Wait for it to be available on yours.
