New Sony TV. What is this? I noticed that, unlike all other streaming apps, Netflix is not optimized and am wondering if this has any effect on performance of the app, and if I should change the other streaming apps to match.

energy optimization OFF = app get full cpu power, app not get put in sleep mode or closed when in background.
energy optimization ON = app is not prioritized, cpu could lower cpu frequency to save energy, app could be in sleep mode and not respond to notifications until active again, app could be closed if became a background app.

IMO, this is similar to Android's Battery optimization. On TV it probably will kill the app background service when not in use.

I think this means that the energy optimisation functions don't work with Netflix meaning it is unaffected.

Change the settings and see if there is any difference. I don't have this setting on my A8G.
