Is there anyway to connect to a L2TP/PPTP VPN from Android TV directly? I have seen some posts requesting the same earlier but couldn't find any useful options to achieve the same. Even though they are outdated, there are still some players(Especially local ISPs who offer OTT) who offer services on these VPN protocols.
Unless your build has the phone version of the Settings app (package name
com.android.settings) removed, you should be able to open it via file explorers like X-plore and set up a VPN that way. You might need a mouse as that app is not designed for remote controls.Some vendors might neuter the Settings app, so it can't be opened directly. In which case you will need to side load a shortcut maker and use it to locate the VpnSettingsActivity in the Settings app and then "test" it.
