Is there a way to connect to a new network without factory resetting a chromecast? I want to have one to travel with and use at hotels, accommodation, etc. without needing to factory reset and reinstall apps such as Netflix and Jellyfin.
Are there other devices which can do this?
I guess one solution is to bring a little travel router and have the Chromecast always be connected to that network.
Connecting to public/hotel wifi varies from place to place and sometimes you don't have a way to connect at all other than from a phone/tablet/laptop. My suggestion is to connect to the wifi using your phone/tablet/laptop and then set up a hotspot from your device. Name the hotspot the same as your home network and also set the password the same as your home network. The chromecast should be able to connect seemlessly to your device.
