Long-press Mute-button is supposed to be "Screen-Off" default function for Androidtv/GoogleTV, so you can listen to streamed music with screen-off.
Check your sleep settings. On my Vizio, there is an option to turn off the screen and just let the audio play. Don't know if it's a Vizio thing or they all have this option now.
It's OLED. Open an all black picture and it's basically off.
I have Philips. Push the cog on the remote. You should find a setting that let you turn off the video
