Picture settings

by AlexMarian

Hello, I recently bought Philips TV 55PUS9206/12. I don’t know how to make the settings for image. Can you give me the best picture settings for this TV ?

Look up avs709 test patterns on YouTube and adjust as they describe how to on each pattern. You will adjust brightness, contrast, and individual rgb colors so you can get the proper saturation intensity levels.

This will give you a good basic calibration which will give you a balanced image on your own. A professional calibrator would have to come out for the best settings imaginable.

Depends on your individual panel. You'll need to get it professionally calibrated.

most people would be fine with just setting it to 'theater/cinema/movie' mode and leaving everything else alone. maybe turn off motion smoothing stuff if it bothers you.

i can't imagine anyone buying a Phillips TV is going to find it worthwhile to spend hundreds of dollars more getting it calibrated.

I'd honestly just leave it on standard with default settings. I have a Samsung, and by turning on Intelligent Mode, I don't have to do much.

I played around with my settings for the longest while. I just settled on everything reset to default.

Set picture mode to "Cinema", "Movie" or similar, disable all "enhancements", colour temperature to "warm", sharpness on minimum.

Search for "HDTV Calibration" in YouTube and start the first playlist that shows up. There's a link in the description telling you how to adjust your picture settings correctly with the test videos.
