I am simply trying to find out what occurs to the Onn Box after unlock of the bootloader and root.
I found two old conflicting comments in the sub that make it sound like the box stays Level 1 after unlock/root or loses it and is Level 3.
Does anyone know for sure what actually occurs?
I just tested my device twice.
After unlocking the bootloader, still L1.
After rooting, still L1.
So I am good to go. :)
I believe you loose the l1, and goes to l3
I have mine rooted and unlocked, I can play 4k content on YouTube just fine. I have no plans of upgrading Netflix to find out though.
EDIT: I am level 1. Downloaded DRM Info app.
What benefit do you gain by unlocking/rooting this android tv box?
I am currently on LineageOS on mine and DRM Info says L1
