Google TV Profiles with Separate Logins

by German8888888

I see Chromecast with Google TV finally have profiles. I've messed around with it and I am a bit disappointed, it only appears to affect the home screen/launcher.

I was hoping this would allow others to login to their own services on the same TV, but it appears apps and their logins are shared across profiles. Is this it or am I missing something to enable this?

For kids this makes sense but I was really hoping to finally not have a profile dedicated to guests or my algorithm all screwed up cause it's easier just to find your episode then to login to your account and continue your show. It would be great if they just switch profiles to get on their Netflix.

Man I still haven't gotten this update on either of mine. Hope it shows up soon

Same situation as Apple TV. App devs don’t want to tie their profile system into the current OS profile.

I just got the update and it is the same as in Netflix, with the seperate profiles and seperate home screens. Which is utter trash for me because I have a very old Youtube channel with a different e-mail adress which I now have to switch Google TV profiles every time to use it whereas before it would have a seperate Youtube login.

Yes it is, people needed to have their own home screen with separate recommendations and such but accessing apps won't isolate the profiles inside, that's up to developers to make up something about it.
