I have a 65" Sony A80J. I'm trying to remap/customize the input button on the remote to switch the HDMI input from my DirecTV receiver to the HDMI input for my Nvidia Shield. In the Button Mapper app, I added the input button/enabled Customize/selected Double tap/Applications/and tried Input, Input Menu, Inputs, and Inputs Menu. When I double tap the input button, the input options appear at the bottom of the screen and then auto scrolls to the last option.
Ideally, I want to double press the input button so that it automatically switches to my Nvidia Shield. I should note that my Nvidia Shield is plugged directly into my Sony soundbar. I prefer to keep the setup this way, but if I need to plug it in to one of the TV HDMI inputs, so be it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have an x80J with a Shield attached via the TV HDMI 2. If I select HDMI 2 via the "Inputs" button on my Sony remote the TV goes to HDMI 2 and turns the Shield on. I can then fully control the Shield via the Sony remote. OR if I turn the Shield on via the Shield remote it automatically turns the Shield on and the Sony TV on as well and goes to HDMI 2.
I have a Harmony Hub and in the Watch TV Function I have programmed a key on the Harmony remote to go to HDMI 2. As soon as it goes to HDMI 2, the Shield turns on automatically! I can then use the Harmony Hub remote to control the Shield. The only key which doesn't work is the long press to pull up the Shield Context Menu.
