I would love to be able to adjust the backlight on the fly instead of clicking 4 different buttons and a slider to adjust it. Remapping the channel buttons seems like the best way, but no app I've tried can do this. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure any button remapper would have access to TV panel settings like they. They would only have access to Android TV OS level stuff (equivalent to what a streaming device would have access to).
Same as people can't map a button to things input switching on the switching (unless the remote has IR features to talk directly to the TV)
