Plenty of titles losing 5.1 badge indeed (including the new dr Strange movie), but my receiver still reporting that it's getting 5.1 DD+ though.

This was the message i received from Hotstar with no reasoning

Thank you for sharing this. We see that you have BRAVIA 2015, please know that we have disabled the Dolby feature and we no longer support Dolby audio on the following device. BRAVIA 2015, AFTB, MiTV-MOOQ1, RealMe Smart TV

Same with me. My vu 65inch(which is a hi sense tv in disguise) has stopped supporting 5.1 for hotstar and YouTube. So fucking wierd. Hope they fix it soon.

UPDATE :- 5.1 and Dolby Atmos getting added back..

I don’t even see it on Netflix from yesterday night. So both disney+ hotstar and Netflix not showing Dolby 5.1 anymore.

Disney+ Hotstar supports Dolby Digital Plus (ec3) and not Dolby Digital(ac3). So if your device supports playback of Dolby Digital Plus and you are not getting 5.1 sound on your device, the following can help you understand the issue better

My Hisense tv which is a 2020 qled model is also not getting Dolby 5.1 audio in Disney hotstar app.i wrote to hotstar and they repiled that they have disabled 5.1 audio for Hisense tv. Then I wrote to Hisense who called and said that only my particular model is having this problem and that they are working on it. No solution offered even after one month. But I am able to get 5.1 in firestick. So I am watching hotstar on that. Planning to buy a 4k firestick

Same with me I have vu 55 4k I have contacted hotstar but they have said they have stopped giving 5.1 on hisense tv

I tried to install an older version and see but no luck.

In which TV? I'm not getting it in Mi TV
